DESCRIPTION :
“The Awebjects” is an interactive installation that transforms four of my personal belongings into memory portals. Drawing inspiration from “The Fifth Element,” with the aim to infuse themes of love, memory and disintegration into our routine experience. This installation seeks to explore the often ignored yet profound meaning and symbolism behind the mundane items we choose to keep. In this experiment, four objects are positioned atop pillars with a crystal adorned candlestick placed in the middle. Each object is equipped with UWB boards calibrated to the candlestick’s distance. As the candlestick approaches specific boundaries on these pedestals, audio events associated with the objects get louder. The audio is also accompanied by an LED string that illuminates the object giving it a sense of life. Finally, a giant 3D-render of my head evolves and tracks you around the room.
