DESCRIPTION :
The “Ponytail” installation offers a multi-layered exploration of human-animal relationships, intertwined with themes of feminist empowerment. As viewers enter the space, they are confronted with a seemingly simplistic scene—a white wall adorned with two identical ponytails. However, as they navigate further, they uncover a profound narrative: the depiction of a horse and a woman, both leaning against the wall. This juxtaposition subtly challenges traditional power dynamics, highlighting the interconnectedness between human and animal experiences while advocating for feminist rights. By recognizing the shared vulnerability and resilience between the woman and the horse, the installation prompts contemplation on gender equality and the recognition of agency across species. Through “Ponytail,” I aim to provoke discourse on feminism within the context of human-animal relationships, fostering empathy and understanding towards all living beings.
