DESCRIPTION :
In today’s Chinese workplace, when a company fire somebody they say they “optimize” them. I can’t tell how frustrated and furious I was by hearing this 4 years ago. Unfortunately, when I talked about this on social media, I didn’t get much response – it seems like people have gotten used to accepting the inappropriate, even dehumanizing aspects of language in exchange for highly efficient communication. “Waiting is a part of working”, there will be endless waiting/silence to fit into the labour machine/monster. I hope this finds you all well.
