Humans have solved immortality – now what? 10,000 years in the future, a mysterious message is sent through the stars to a lone wanderer named Nine. In the cold vacuum of space, nothing is left to do but to wait for a reply. Adapted from the first chapter of the internet novel of the same name by Jon Bois, America 17,776 uses live feed and pre-recorded video to explore the intricacies of connection and communication across time and space. America 17,776 is a collaboration between Zoë Danger Lappin (XDP 2024) and Rory James Leech (Acting 2023), originally performed in the spring of 2023 by Lappin, Leech, and Chloe Le Lievre (Acting 2023).
